译文
你看那花花树树交枝接叶，像是互诉着情愫；鸟儿点缀其间，构成了一幅幅折枝画图。湖里的游鱼成双结对，在水下快乐地追逐；岸上的人家门当户对，男男女女都是亲密相处。一步步镶金铺翠，到处见琳琅满目。真是人间的天堂乐土。你可别糊里糊涂，把西湖当了卖了，白白地辜负。
注释
折枝：国画花卉画法的一种，指弃根干而单绘上部的花叶，形同折枝，故名。
厢：通“镶”。
醉中天·花木相思树鉴赏
杭州西湖的旖旎风光，给文人骚客们带来了无穷无尽的灵感和情思。歌咏西湖的散曲作品，也如同湖山美景那样争奇斗妍，各具风致。这首《醉中天》，是其中不落常套的一首。
起首四句，剪裁出四幅不同的画面。第一句，远眺。相思树即连理树，原指异根而同枝相通；西湖岸上花卉林木互相依偎簇拥，交柯接叶，远远望去便会产生连理的感觉。第二句，近观。“折枝”是花卉画中突出局部主体，而稍取旁景衬托的剪裁性的特写，作者为各色禽鸟所吸引，伫神凝望，连同近旁枝叶的背景，不正是一幅幅绝好的折枝图吗。第三句，湖中。“双双比目鱼”，当然不是《尔雅》所说的那种唯生一目、“不比不行”的缣鲽，不过是因为游鱼成群，圉圉洋洋，所以看上去都好像是结伴成对的了。何况观鱼最容易引起像庄子于濠上产生的那种物我一体、移情游鳞的感受，而西湖的澄澈明丽，亦自在句意之中。第四句，岸上。曲中用“鸳鸯户”三字，造语新警。它既形容出湖岸鳞次栉比的人家，又会使人联想起门户内男欢女悦、熙熙陶陶的情景。这四句固是状写西湖花木之繁、鱼鸟之众、人烟之稠，然而由于用上“相思”、“比目”、“鸳鸯”等字样，便平添了热烈、欢乐和美好的气氛。四幅画面交叠在一起，本身还是静态的，而下承“一步步金厢翠铺”一句，就化静为动了。“金厢”即以金镶嵌，有富贵气象，而“翠铺”又不无清秀的色彩。这一切，自然而然引出了“世间好处”的考语，用今时的话语来说，这正是“人间天堂”的意思。
铺叙自此，用笔已满，作者突然一折，接上了一句“典卖西湖”的冷隽语，还特地附上了小注。细细思味，令人叫绝。从注释三所引的原注来看，台、谏分掌弹劾和规谏，所谓有“言责”；省、院制法令、行政务，所谓有“官守”；均属于“轩冕”一流。典也好，卖也好，平民百姓不会沾染，“轻视轩冕”是理所当然的。这句话从原注理解，便是说：西湖风光如此美好，可不要糊里糊涂，去争当什么台谏省院的高官啊。当了官便不自由，不能流连山水，“无往不可”。这是避名利、乐山水的一层意思。另一方面，作者引用的是“宋谚”，宋社已屋，对宋而言，最终结果不啻是“典卖了西湖”。“休没寻思”这一句，也多少隐含着对前朝误国君臣的嘲弄，隐含着一点兴亡盛衰之感。双关之意，是颇为巧妙的。

刘时中 [元] （约元成宗大德年间前后在世），洪都（今江西南昌）人，元代散曲家。生卒年、生平、字号均不详，约元成宗大德年间前后在世。官学士，时中工作曲，今存小令六十余支，套数三四首，以水仙子西湖四时渔歌最著名。
