鲍老当筵笑郭郎，笑他舞袖太郎当。
若教鲍老当筵舞，转更郎当舞袖长。
咏傀儡鉴赏
这首诗用朴素自然的语言咏傀儡以言情，形象生动，耐人咀嚼。诗题《咏傀儡》，意为吟咏木偶戏中的木偶。诗的前两句“鲍老当筵笑郭郎，笑他舞袖太郎当”，“鲍老”，是宋代戏剧中的角色；“郭郎”，是戏剧中的丑角，诗中系指木偶戏中的木偶。这里，着墨无多，却使鲍老与郭郎的形象跃然纸上。诗人写鲍老，突出一个“笑”字；写郭郎，则紧扣其“舞袖太郎当”（衣服宽大，与身材不称）。透过这两行诗，我们仿佛目睹鲍老当筵笑郭郎的笑容，耳闻其笑语，也仿佛看到郭郎甩动着宽长的衣袖机械起舞的舞姿。
诗的后两句“若教鲍老当筵舞，转更郎当舞袖长”，笔锋一转，作出假设：倘若让鲍老当筵舞，则鲍老的舞袖较之郭郎反而更显得宽长。这两行诗，令人读后忍俊不禁：哦，原来那个讥笑郭郎舞袖太郎当的鲍老，其舞袖更为郎当。这样，鲍老就成了一个缺乏自知之明的角色，他对郭郎的讥笑，也就变为他的自我嘲笑。
显然，这首诗在艺术上的特色是寓讥刺于幽默之中，诗旨不在写鲍老笑郭郎舞袖太郎当，而在讥刺鲍老缺乏自知之明，以及傀儡的身不由己。但诗人不是以一副严肃的面孔，声色俱厉地呵斥之，而是面露笑容，说出蕴藏着讥刺锋芒的幽默话来，从而，令人于一阵轻松发笑之后，陷入沉思，有所领悟。这种寓讥刺于幽默之中的艺术，较之直露讥刺锋芒要委婉含蓄，耐人寻味。

杨亿（974—1020）北宋文学家，“西昆体”诗歌主要作家。字大年，建州浦城（今属福建浦城县）人。年十一，太宗闻其名，诏送阙下试诗赋，授秘书省正字。淳化中赐进士，曾为翰林学士兼史馆修撰，官至工部侍郎。性耿介，尚气节，在政治上支持丞相寇准抵抗辽兵入侵。又反对宋真宗大兴土木，求仙祀神的迷信活动。卒谥文，人称杨文公。
