译文
这帘儿是湘江岸的翠竹加锦丝绦织就，这帘儿是南海中的明珠用红绒线穿成。无论是在淡月下掩映，还是在清风中立身，它都不沾飞花，隔断红尘。它像一片自由的彩云，无牵无挂，能屈能伸，涉历了多少朝云暮雨，却不着一点印痕。
注释
朱帘秀：元初著名的青楼女演员，朱姓，行四，以演杂剧著称。朱帘秀为其艺名，亦作“珠帘秀”。其与当时的文人名士交往密切，除胡祗遹外，王恽、卢挚、冯子振、关汉卿都作有散曲赠她。
朝云暮雨：战国宋玉在《高唐赋序》中述楚怀王梦巫山女子伴寝，自称“旦为朝云，暮为行雨，朝朝暮暮，阳台之下”。后因以作为男女交合的喻称。

沉醉东风·赠妓朱帘秀鉴赏
切合姓名咏物志感，是诗词曲赠人之作的常法。如苏东坡《减字木兰花》赠徐君猷侍儿胜之：“天然宅院，赛了千千并万万。说与贤知，表德元来是胜之。今来十四，海里猴儿奴子是。要赌休痴，六只骰儿六点儿。”“赛了千千并万万”、“海里猴儿”（双陆胜采名）、“六只骰儿六点儿”（掷骰胜采）都含“胜之”的意思。该篇即围绕“朱帘秀”三字生发，从珠帘的禀质、环境、阅历及所显示的风神步步写来，贴切于物而影合于人。
曲中的暗示、双关，意味悠长。如“锦织江边翠竹，绒穿海上明珠”，以“江边翠竹”之秀、“海上明珠”之贵配上锦织绒穿的精致，合映出朱帘秀的色艺双全；“月淡时风清处，都隔断落红尘土”，既暗点朱帘秀寄身“风月场”的处境，又表现出她的脱俗厌嚣，纤尘不染。末二句从王勃《滕王阁序》“画栋朝飞南浦云，珠帘暮卷西山雨”的句境化出，又兼具“高唐云雨”典故的风情意味，显示了朱帘秀婉娩风流，而又勘破情关的秀慧形象。从一挂帘子开掘出这样多的浪漫色彩，足见作者的艺术功力。

胡祗遹（zhī yù）（1227—1295）字绍闻 ，号紫山。磁州武安（今属河北省）人。于世祖朝历任户部员外郎、右司员外郎、太原路治中、河东山西道提刑按察副使、荆湖北道宣慰副使、济宁路总管及山东、浙西提刑按察使等职，以精明干练著称，所至颇具声誉。胡祗遹后召拜翰林学士，未赴，改任江南浙西按察使，不久以疾辞归。卒，谥文靖。《元史》有传。祗遹学出宋儒，著述较丰，著有诗文集《紫山大全集》，今存二十六卷本。卷八有《黄氏诗卷序》、《优伶赵文益诗序》、《朱氏诗卷序》等文，为研究元曲之珍贵资料。明·朱权《太和正音谱》评其词“如秋潭孤月”。
