东汉末年，袁尚进攻平原，审配与陈琳留守冀州，曹操趁机围困冀州。袁尚派主簿李孚扮作曹军去攻冀州，审配见是李孚，就与他商定先用妇幼与老弱残兵假降曹操，主力部队混出城与曹操决战，被曹操识破，曹操将计就计取了冀州。
