未雨绸缪的典故

1、武王灭纣后，封管叔、蔡叔及霍叔於商都近郊，以监视殷遗民，号三监。武王薨，成王年幼继位，由叔父周公辅政，致三监不满。管叔等散布流言，谓周公将不利于成王。周公为避嫌疑，远离京城，迁居洛邑。不久，管叔等人与殷纣王之子武庚勾结行叛。周公乃奉成王命，兴师东伐，诛管叔、杀武庚、放蔡叔，收殷余民。周公平乱后，遂写一首《鸱鸮》诗与成王。其诗曰： “趁天未下雨，急剥桑皮，拌以泥灰，以缚门窗。汝居下者，敢欺我哉？”周公诗有讽谏之意，望成王及时制定措施，以止叛乱阴谋。成王虽心中不满，然未敢责之。

2、“诗经”中有一篇标题为“鸱鸮”的诗，描写一只失去了自己小孩的母鸟，仍然在辛勤的筑巢，其中有几句诗：“迨天之未阴雨，彻彼桑土，绸缪牖户。今此下民，或敢侮予！”意思是说：趁着天还没有下雨的时候，赶快用桑根的皮把鸟巢的空隙缠紧，只有把巢坚固了，才不怕人的侵害。

后来，大家把这几句诗引伸为“未雨绸缪”，意思是说做任何事情都应该事先准备，以免临时手忙脚乱。
