基本解释金屋：富丽华贵的房屋；娇：阿娇；指汉武帝刘彻的姑母长公主刘嫖的女儿。原指汉武帝刘彻要用金屋接纳阿娇作妇。后指特别宠爱某美貌女子；也特指纳妾。

金屋藏娇的典故

汉武帝刘彻四岁时，做太子的是他的哥哥刘荣。刘彻之所以能当上太子，全靠景帝的姐姐长公主的帮助。长公主原想把自己的女儿陈阿娇许给太子刘荣，将来就是皇后。但是太子的母亲栗姬却不领情，于是长公主把目光转向了刘彻。有一次，她问刘彻愿不愿意娶阿娇做妻子，刘彻也很喜欢阿娇，见姑姑问，便大方地说：以后如果能娶阿娇做妻子，我就要亲自造一栋金屋子送给她。（“若得阿娇，必以金屋贮之。”）汉景帝见儿子有这样的气魄，也同意了这门亲事。

后来，刘彻做了皇帝也娶了阿娇，造了富丽堂皇的宫殿实践了小时候的诺言。
