唐朝时期，大臣刘炜之因看不惯武则天的专权，一心想帮助唐睿宗。一次被武则天定罪入狱。唐睿宗据理力争，为其开脱。刘炜之说：“太后威福由己，独断专行，皇帝去营救，就是火上加油，我死定了的。”
