走马看花的典故

唐朝中期，有位著名的诗人孟郊。他出身贫苦，从小勤奋好学，很有才华。但是，他的仕途却一直很不顺利，从青年到壮年，好几次参加进士考试都落了第。他虽然穷困潦倒，甚至连自己的家属都养不起，但他性情耿直，不肯走权贵之门。他决心刻苦攻读，用自己的真才实学，叩开仕途的大门。唐德宗贞元十三年(公元797年)，孟郊又赴京参加了一次进士考试，这次，他进士及第了，孟郊高兴极了。他穿上崭新的衣服，扎上彩带红花，骑着高头大马，在长安城里尽情地游览。京城美丽的景色使他赞叹，高中进士的喜悦又使他万分得意，于是，他写下了这首著名的《登科后》诗：

昔日龌龊不足夸，今朝放荡思无涯；

春风得意马蹄疾，一日看尽长安花。
