好谋善断的典故

三国时，孙权善于招揽人才，礼贤下士。只要有才能，愿为他效力的人，他都加以重用。鲁肃、诸葛瑾等人都投奔到他旗下，得到了他的赏识和重用。公元208年，荆州牧刘表病死，鲁肃建议孙权派他前往荆州，以吊丧为名，联合依附于刘表的刘备，共同对抗曹操。鲁肃与刘备见面后，刘备表示同意，便派诸葛亮随鲁肃去见孙权。当时，孙权还在犹豫不决。诸葛亮见到孙权后对他说，曹操大军压境，再不采取主动将会大祸临头。曹军南下作战，非常疲倦，加上他们又不习水战，只要孙、刘联军，一定能将曹操打败。孙权听了这番分析，增强了联刘抗曹的信心。他召集部下商议，周瑜分析了曹军的弱点后，认为曹操犯了用兵大忌，建议孙权给他几万精兵，保证能大获全胜。周瑜的话使孙权抗曹的决心更坚定了。这一年，孙权任命周瑜为左督，鲁肃为赞军校尉，程普为右督，率三万精兵沿江西上，和刘备的军队会合，迎击曹军。赤壁之战，曹军大败，从而形成三足鼎立的局面。孙权建立吴国后，由于他善于用人，善于判断，所以吴国越来越强大。
