投鼠忌器的成语故事

拼音tóu shǔ jì qì

基本解释想用东西打老鼠；又怕打坏了老鼠旁边的器物。比喻想打击坏人而又有所顾忌。

出处汉 贾谊《治安策》：“里谚曰：‘欲投鼠而忌器。’此善喻也。鼠近于器，尚惮不投，恐伤其器，况于贵臣之近主乎！”

投鼠忌器的典故

三国初期，汉献帝与丞相曹操、皇叔刘备一起去打猎。曹操为了显示自己的武力，竟跟汉献帝齐头并进。汉南帝见不远处有只兔子，就叫刘备射，说是要看看皇叔的箭法。刘备连忙弯弓射箭，正好命中兔子，献帝连夸好箭法。南帝又看见一只大鹿，连射三箭不中，就叫曹操射。曹操拿过南帝的金比箭，一箭就射中了鹿。将士们见射中鹿的是金比箭，以为是献帝射的，都高呼“万岁”，曹操得意地站到献帝前接受欢呼。关云长实在看不下去，要拍马刀砍曹操，刘备忙暗示他不可轻举妄动。事后，关云长问刘备为什么不让杀曹操，他说：“投鼠忌器，他身边还有献帝呢。”
