夏朝时期，禹的孙子太康即位，他荒淫无度，百姓为之悲哀，他到洛水南面去打猎，穷国君主羿趁机篡夺了夏国的政权。太康的弟弟做《五子之歌》：“皇祖有训，民可近不可下。民惟邦本，本固邦宁。” 中康起兵恢复了夏国。
