合浦还珠的典故
东汉时期，合浦郡盛产珍珠闻名海外，当地老百姓以采珠为生，贪官污吏趁机盘剥，使得珠民大肆捕捞，珠蚌产量越来越低，饿死不少人。汉顺帝刘保派孟尝当合浦太守，他革除弊端，不准滥捕。不到一年，合浦又盛产珍珠了。
