秋风过耳的典故

春秋时吴王寿梦有四个儿子：长子诸樊，二子余祭，三子余昧，四子季札。其中季札品德浑厚，吴王很喜欢他。

公元561年，吴王病重，把季札叫来，要把王位传他。季札不受，说：“按理是长子即位，父王请不要对我有什么偏爱！”吴王就将王位传了长子诸樊，要他好好照顾季札。

诸樊当了吴王后，和两个弟弟商量：王位以后兄弟依次相袭，最后让季札为王。三个兄弟相继当了吴王。季札都忠诚地辅佐他们，因此贤名远扬。

后来余昧临终要将王位传给季札，季札坚决推脱，说：“我早就说过不要王位。做人只求为人正派，品德高尚。至于荣华富贵，不过象耳边吹过的秋风，我是不关心的。”他离开了京城，直到僚被立为吴王，才回来，继续辅佐僚治理国家。
