战国后期，秦国攻打赵国，赵国的近邻魏国却见死不救，认为这对魏国有利，魏国相国子顺可不这样认为。他认为秦国势力强大，侵略成性，魏国不能像房梁下的燕雀那样过着安逸的生活，因为房屋发生了火灾，燕雀就没有栖身之处了。
