王夫人叫贾环抄《金刚咒》，贾环便来到王夫人炕上坐着，令人点了蜡烛，拿腔做势的抄写。丫鬟彩霞叫他安分抄写，贾环则咬定彩霞与宝玉好，对他不好。彩霞则骂他狗咬吕洞宾——不识好人心。这时宝玉、王熙凤进来，贾环只好偷偷地生闷气。
