波澜老成的典故

元朝汤编著的《画鉴·宋画》里记载着一个故事。宋朝有个名叫徐友的画家，有一次在常州太和寺佛殿后面的墙壁上，画了一幅描绘河水的壁画，题名《清济贯河》，其中有一笔从头到尾长达40丈，受到观众的特别注意。

汤对此发表评论说：“其实徐友的妙处并不在此。因为他功力深厚，笔法

老练，线条连绵不断，像波涛起伏（原文是‘笔法既老，波澜起伏’），跟水势相结合，互相影响，就觉得越看越奇了。”

后来，人们把“波澜独老成”这个成语，来形容诗文气势雄壮，功力深厚。
